Aug 12The Basement ArcadeA folder called Games on an old drive: 74 tar archives from 2004 to 2006, each one a small Flash game built for a forum arcade mod. Flash is dead and so are the forums. I put them back on with Ruffle, then chased the part that made a forum arcade an arcade: the Submit High Score button, which had been posting to a PHP script that has not existed since 2007.Seventy-four Flash games from a 2005 forum arcade, running again with their high scores. - Aug 10
Aug 10FrontPage 2003, in a browser tabI found a FrontPage 2003 install disc in a folder and asked Claude Code whether it could read the CAB files and rebuild the app. This is what came back: the XP window, the menus, the folder list, the four view tabs, and a 2003 home page for me, marquee and hit counter included.FrontPage 2003 rebuilt in a browser tab, from an old install disc. - Aug 03
Aug 03A CRT TV as the whole websiteA landing page for a collectibles-buying business, except the page is a tube TV in a dark room. Feb 22A forum RPG mod, rebuiltADR was a phpBB2 mod from the mid-2000s: an RPG bolted onto a forum, where every member got a character, fought monsters between posts, robbed the shops and did time in jail when it went wrong. I rebuilt it from the original PHP as a React app, formulas and all. This copy runs entirely in your browser, so make a character and go hit a cave rat.A mid-2000s phpBB forum RPG, rebuilt in React with the original formulas.
